PLOS SUBMITS EXTENSIVE CRITIQUE OF PROPOSED PROJECT

On May 1, 2003, Preserve Lamorinda Open Space submitted a full legal analysis and five technical reports, along with dozens of other evidentiary documents, about Palos Colorados to the Army Corps. These documents outline in great detail the significant effects this project is likely to have on water quality and wetlands, threatened species, and wildlife habitat. They also demonstrate that application has not met the legal requirement to analyze fully a range of alternatives, and choose the least environmentally damaging one. Now the regulatory agencies are reviewing this evidence, along with the large number of other comment letters, and deciding what action to take.
